More Than Meets the Eye-conomy: Autobots to Receive Gov't Bailout

It’s the economy, stupid, uh, future. So I’m guessing Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen will be another totally awesome, robot-battling, high-speed-chasing, more-explosions-than-ever-in-the-history-of-cinema car commercial for General Motors. Um, which will be pretty ironic at this point. With GM possibly bankrupt by the time the movie comes out, Revenge of the Fallen will take on a new meaning. Maybe the Autobots can help revive the fallen auto industry. They just need to start finding more Green forms of vehicles to transform into, to help with Global Warming and creating new Green jobs. How about transforming into mass transit, like buses, trains or trolleys? Or bicycles? Maybe a solar-powered land glider? I think the Chevy Volt electric car is supposed to make an appearance in the movie, though I heard that car may cost like 40K, so not sure how that’s really going to help revive the auto industry. Hey, you know what would be really cool – a transforming Segway! Okay, maybe not cool, but, well, interesting. Or not.

  1. Awesome…a lot of those autobots were gas guzzling supercars…Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Jazz, and Mirage from the original cartoon alone would have starved to death in the original series if gas prices were $4.00 a gallon like the were last summer. And Ironhide, Ratchet, Tracks, those dudes were all heavy-duty vans and trucks. Not the most fuel-efficient devices. And what about all the Decepticon Jets, imagine the fuel those things went through. The final battle would come down to the something like Bumblebee and CliffJumper vs. Laserbeak and Ravage, and all the rest would be sitting on the sidelines out of fuel. No filling up Energon Cubes at those prices, buddy. Megatron would have to start sending solar panels over the Space Bridge….

My uncle is an artist for a company that does 3-D props, sculptures, retail displays, theater standees, large-scale replicas and all kinds of cool stuff. He told me last week that they just shipped a project that they couldn’t talk about (legal stuff??) because it was going to hundreds of theaters around the country to promote a movie coming out in May. After checking out their website I wonder if it’s ROTF!!! If anyone gets a pic, pls post!!!!!
